Helping to end hunger and encourage kids to eat healthier.
At just 12 years old, Te’Lario Watkins II founded The Garden Club Project with a mission to help end hunger and encourage kids to eat healthier. Now 16, Te’Lario is expanding his impact by developing an urban farm on an acre of land generously donated by a community member inspired by his mission. But Te’Lario’s journey began much earlier.
Te’Lario’s entrepreneurial spirit first emerged at the age of 7 when he founded Tiger Mushroom Farms, a small family-run business specializing in gourmet mushrooms and seasoning. With the support of his family, Te’Lario cultivated his passion for farming and healthy eating, laying the foundation for his future endeavors.
In 2020, Te’Lario took his commitment to health and community to the next level by establishing The Garden Club Project. The mission is the same:to help end hunger and encourage kids to eat healthier. His vision was clear: to create a space where young people could learn about sustainable farming, nutrition, and the importance of giving back to their communities. The project quickly gained traction, attracting volunteers, supporters, and media attention.
Now, with an acre of land at his disposal, Te’Lario is focused on developing an urban farm that will serve as a hub for education and community engagement. This farm will provide fresh produce to local food banks, host educational workshops for kids, and demonstrate the potential of urban agriculture to transform communities.
Te’Lario’s work is far from over. As he continues to grow The Garden Club Project, his goal is to inspire other young people to take action and make a difference in their communities. He hopes that his story will show that age is no barrier to making an impact and that with passion and determination, anyone can contribute to a healthier, more sustainable world.
The Garden Club Project thrives on community support. Whether through volunteering, donating, or spreading the word, every bit of help brings Te’Lario’s vision closer to reality. Join us in supporting this incredible young leader and his mission to end hunger and encourage healthier eating habits among kids.
